RESUMO
A obesidade tornou-se um dos grandes desafios a ser combatido pela sociedade, como "uma crise mundial de saúde". A prevalência de crianças e adolescentes com obesidade aumentou dez vezes em todo o mundo nas últimas quatro décadas. Este estudo objetiva discutir a temática da abordagem psicoemocional de adolescentes com obesidade. Trata-se de uma revisão da literatura científica na qual foram selecionados 14 artigos publicados entre 2009 e 2017 e disponibilizados nas bases de dados eletrônicas Scielo e Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde. Para a busca dos artigos foram usados os descritores obesidade, adolescente, estudantes e emoções. As exigências impostas pela sociedade pelo corpo ideal fazem com que muitas vezes os adolescentes obesos se sintam discriminados e excluídos da sociedade em geral. A obesidade não acarreta apenas prejuízos à saúde física, altera também a saúde emocional desses adolescentes. Portanto, ao analisar os dados da literatura conclui-se que é fundamental a intervenção multiprofissional na prevenção da obesidade bem como a oferta de ações que melhorem a autoestima, o convívio social, impactando positivamente na qualidade de vida desses adolescentes
ABSTRACT
Obesity has been one of the great challenges to be opposed by society, as "a world health crisis." The prevalence of obese children and adolescents has increased ten times worldwide over the past four decades. This study aims to discuss the thematic of the psychoemotional approach of adolescents with obesity. It is a review of the scientific literature in which 14 articles published between 2009 and 2017 were selected and they are available in the electronic databases Scielo and Virtual Health Library. In order to search these articles the following descriptors were used obesity, adolescent, students and emotions. The requirements imposed by society for the ideal body often make obese adolescents feel discriminated against and excluded from society in general. Obesity does not only entaildamage to physical health, it also affects the emotional health of these adolescents. As a result, when analyzing the literature data, it is inferred that multiprofessional intervention in the prevention of obesity is essential as well as the offer of actions that improve self-esteem, social interaction, positively impacting the quality of life of these adolescentes
