RESUMEN

Introducción:

El confinamiento que soportan los niños por la COVID-19 favorece el maltrato infantil.

Objetivos:

Describir diferentes formas de maltrato infantil que pudieran ocurrir durante el confinamiento debido a la COVID-19.

Métodos:

La investigación se realizó entre marzo-junio de 2020. Se utilizaron como fuente de información primaria libros, revistas científicas y tesis y como fuente secundaría las bases de datos Scielo, Redalyc y documentos de la UNICEF y la UNESCO. Los términos y palabras clave empleados en la búsqueda fueron familia, maltrato infantil, cuarentena, COVID-19.

Resultados:

Se define el concepto de maltrato y los factores de riesgo involucrados. Se alude al maltrato físico, por abandono, por abuso sexual, por poder y maltrato psicológico. Se relacionan las reacciones psicológicas que pueden presentar los niños que han sufrido impacto por confinamiento. Se trata la importancia de la detección del maltrato infantil y se brindan orientaciones a los padres. Consideraciones finales El estado de alerta generado por la COVID-19 ha implantado nuevos estresores que pueden provocar maltrato en la población infantil, como; violencia en la crianza como forma de maltrato físico, las prácticas de abandono aun compartiendo la misma vivienda, el abuso sexual infantil y juvenil en las viviendas; el maltrato psicológico derivado de los temores que sufren los menores y la seguridad que le debe brindar la familia. La adaptación a la situación de confinamiento y declarar casos de maltrato están mediados por el papel de los padres, maestros y familiares(AU)
ABSTRACT

Introduction:

Confinement due to COVID-19 pandemic that children are exposed to favors child abuse.

Objectives:

To describe different ways of child abuse that can occur during confinement due to COVID-19.

Methods:

The research was carried out from March to June, 2020. As primary information sources were used books, scientific journals and thesis; and as secondary sources Scielo and Redalyc databases, and UNICEF and UNESCO documents. The terms and keywords used in the search were family, child abuse, quarantine, COVID-19.

Results:

It was defined the concept of abuse and the risk factors involved. It was mentioned physical abuse, abandonment, sexual abuse, abuse of power, and psychological abuse. There were stated the psychological reactions that children might present due to the impact of confinement. It was also addressed the importance of detecting children abuse, and some directions in this regard were given to the parents. Final considerations Alert state generated by COVID-19 has implanted new stressors which can trigger abuse situations in the children population like violence while raising children as a way of physical abuse, abandonment practices although the family members are living together, children and adolescents´ sexual abuse at home; psychological abuse derived from fears that minors suffers, and the safety that the family must provide. Adaptability to the confinement situation and the fact of declaring cases of abuse are mediated by the role of parents, teachers and relatives(AU)
