Objetivo:
Determinar el porcentaje de pacientes adultos a quienes les fue resuelto su motivo de consulta, durante el proceso de atención odontológica, que ingresaron en el ciclo II-2013 a la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de El Salvador.Metodología:
Corresponde a un estudio de tipo descriptivo de corte transversal; mediante la revisión de 662 expedientes de pacientes que asistieron a la Facultad de Odontología en el ciclo II-2013, con edades desde 10 a 83 años. La recolección de datos se realizó mediante una lista de cotejo durante octubre y noviembre de 2015.Resultados:
Los motivos de consulta más frecuentemente atendidos en la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de El Salvador son Inflamación y Dolor con 27.95%, Fractura Dental, Estética y Reponer Dientes Perdidos con 21.15% y Revisión con 17.52%. Al 85.20% se le proyectó el tratamiento indicado para solucionar su motivo de consulta. Se dio solución al 74.32% de los motivos de consulta por el cual el paciente acudió a la clínica, de estos el 23.26% corresponde a Inflamación y Dolor, el 14.35% a Revisión y 13.44% a Fractura Dental, Estética y Reponer Diente Perdido. Con respecto a los tratamientos ejecutados en orden de prevalencia están Endodoncias, profilaxis, raspado y alisado, obturaciones, exodoncia y tratamientos protésicos.Conclusiones:
La atención odontológica ofrecida en la Facultad de Odontología en el ciclo II-2013 solucionó el motivo de consulta a un 74.32% de pacientes que asistieron a las clínicas.ABSTRACT
Objective:
To determine the percentage of adult patients whose reason for consultation was solved during dental care, who entered the semester II-2013 at the School of Dentistry of the University of El Salvador.Methodology:
It is a descriptive study of cross section by reviewing records of 662 patients who attended the School of Dentistry in semester II-2013, aged between 10 and 83 years. Data collection was performed using a checklist during October to November 2015.Results:
The reasons for consultation most frequently treated at the School of Dentistry of the University of El Salvador are Inflammation and Pain (27.95%), Dental Fracture, Aesthetics and Replacement of Missing Teeth (21.25%) and Dental Checkup (17.52%). 85.20% of patients were prescribed treatment designed to resolve their complaint. 74.32% solution of the reasons for consultation by which the patient attended to the clinic was given. Of these, 23.26% corresponds to Inflammation and Pain, 14.35% corresponds to Dental Checkup and 13.44% to Dental Fracture, Aesthetics and Replacement of Missing Teeth. According to the executed treatments in order of prevalence are Endodontics, prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, dental fillings, extractions and prosthetic treatments.Conclusions:
Dental care offered at the Faculty of Dentistry in semester II-2013 solved the reason for consultation to 74.32% of patients who attended clinics.
