ABSTRACT
Several vaccines are being developed to try to contain the advance of the COVID-19 pandemic, some still in testing phases and others already being used on an emergency or definitive basis around the world. According to the World Health Organization WHO, for the three vaccines reviewed so far (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Oxford-Astra Zeneca), it was concluded that the known benefits outweigh the potential risks. These vaccines will have a beneficial effect on the high rate of severe cases and mortality caused by SARS-CoV-2, a key goal of vaccination; more work is needed to understand whether this applies to all attention variants (WHO, 2021).
