RESUMO

O Cisto Odontogênico Ortoceratinizado (COO) é um cisto de desenvolvimento que ocorre nos maxilares, com maior predileção pela região posterior da mandíbula, em pacientes jovens do gênero masculino. O COO é caracterizado radiograficamente como uma área radiolúcida, unilocular bem definida e identificado histologicamente pela presença de uma cavidade cística fibrosa, revestida por epitélio estratificado pavimentoso ortoceratinizado. ABSTRACT

The Orthokeratinized Odontogenic Cyst (OOC) is a developmental cyst that occurs in the jaws, with a greater predilection in the posterior region of the mandible in young male patients. OOC is characterized radiographically as a well-defined radiolucent, unilocular area and histologically identified by the presence of a fibrous cystic cavity lined by orthokeratinized squamous epithelium.
