RESUMEN

RESUMEN Fundamento Cuba ha prestado sus servicios en muchos países del mundo, dentro de ellos el de Ecuador. Una de las especialidades que allí se ha desempeñado es la Medicina Física y Rehabilitación. Objetivo: describir los resultados del trabajo de Fisiatría en Cisne II, Ecuador, durante el periodo de enero a abril del 2018. Métodos: estudio descriptivo que incluyó todos los pacientes tratados por el médico cubano que laboraba en el Centro de salud Cisne II, tipo C. Se midieron las variables cantidad de pacientes atendidos, sexo, grupos etarios y afecciones tratadas. Los datos se obtuvieron del Departamento de Estadísticas, Admisión y Archivo, de dicha localidad. Resultados: fueron atendidos 1110 pacientes, fundamentalmente del sexo femenino(54 %) y del grupo de entre 45 y 64 años. La afección más frecuentemente tratada fue la gonartrosis (26,7 %) seguida de la lumbalgia(23,1 %); la menos frecuentemente observada fue la hemiplejia con 0,78 %. Conclusiones: un número considerable de personas recibió los beneficios de un servicio médico para el tratamiento de afecciones muy comunes entre la población, algo que nunca antes había tenido.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT Background: Cuba has provided its services in many countries around the world, including Ecuador. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is one of specialties that have worked there. Objective: to describe the results of Physiatry work in Cisne II Ecuador, from January to April 2018. Methods: descriptive study that included all the patients treated by the Cuban doctor who worked at the Cisne II Health Center, type C. The measured variables number of patients treated, sex, age groups and conditions treated. The data were obtained from the locality Department of Statistics, Admission and Archives. Results: 1110 patients were treated, mainly female (54%) and the group between 45 and 64 years old. The most frequently treated condition was knee osteoarthritis (26.7%) followed by low back pain (23.1%); the least frequently observed was hemiplegia with 0.78%. Conclusions: a significant number of people received medical service benefits for the common illness treatment among the population, something they had never had before.
