Homens e aborto: narrativas sobre experiências compartilhadas / Men and abortion: narratives about shared experiences

RESUMO

Este estudo teve como objetivo compreender os significados atribuídos pelos homens que participaram da experiência de aborto com suas parceiras. O método usado pautou-se na análise da narrativa. Colaboraram com a pesquisa 17 homens que tinham compartilhado tais experiências. As narrativas foram analisadas de modo a identificar aspectos significativos das experiências individuais e as similaridades e diferenças existentes entre elas. As categorias descritivas da experiência do aborto espontâneo foram vivenciando a notícia gravidez; identificando as possíveis causas do aborto; expressando sentimentos relativos à experiência do aborto; tomando atitudes em decorrência do aborto; e do aborto provocado foram descrevendo os motivos que levaram à decisão de abortar; recursos usados para a prática do aborto; expressando sentimentos vivenciados no processo; ponderando sobre a experiência vivida. A experiência do aborto é envolta por questões amplas e complexas, as categorias formuladas e suas partes constituintes possibilitam o embasamento de uma assistência pautada no respeito à perspectiva daqueles que vivenciam a experiência. A assistência aos homens que compartilharam tal experiência com suas mulheres, demanda sensibilidade e envolvimento dos profissionais de saúde para tornar possível o acolhimento, as informações adequadas e o suporte emocional a eles e suas respectivas parceiras

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to understand the means given by the men who have participated in abortion experience with their partners. The research method was the narrative analysis. Seventeen men who had shared the experience with their partners collaborated with the research. The narratives were analyzed to identify significative aspects of individual experiences and the similarities and differences among them. The categories reported about the miscarriage were pregnancy news; identifying the possible reasons of the miscarriage; expressing feelings about the miscarriage experience; taking attitudes related to the miscarriage; and about the abortion were describing the reasons made them decide to abort; the ways and resources to abort; expressing feelings during the procedures; pondering about the experience. The experience of abortion is surrounded by complex and comprehensive questions, the formulated categories and its components make possible to base a ruled care regarding about the perspective of those who had the experience. The care to those men who shared this experience with their women, demands sensibility and involvement from health professionals to make possible the reception, the suitable information and emotional support to them and their partners
