RESUMEN
RESUMEN Fundamento la pandemia de COVID-19 es un desafío sin precedentes para la ciencia y la sociedad; ha exigido respuestas rápidas y diversas de los sistemas de salud, los que necesitan reorganizarse en todos sus componentes para su enfrentamiento. Objetivo:
determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre la COVID-19 en médicos de atención primaria del Policlínico Docente Norte de Placetas, provincia de Villa Clara, Cuba, en el año 2020.Métodos:
se realizó una investigación descriptiva transversal en la cual se emplearon métodos teóricos analítico-sintético y el enfoque de sistema; empíricos cuestionario y el matemático para determinar los valores absolutos y relativos.Resultados:
la mayoría de los médicos eran especialistas en Medicina General Integral, con un rango de edad entre los 24 y 35 años, predominaron el sexo femenino, los de menos de 5 años de experiencia profesional y la ausencia de cargos administrativos. Prevaleció el modo de obtención del conocimiento combinado (autopreparación y docencia), el indicador con mejor calificación fue la prevención, y el de mayor dificultad los conceptos asociados a la enfermedad con un nivel medio de conocimiento general.Conclusiones:
los médicos de la atención primaria del Policlínico Docente Norte exhibieron un nivel medio de conocimientos sobre la COVID-19, presentaron mayores dificultades en relación con los conceptos y un mejor dominio respecto a la prevención y los aspectos epidemiológicos de la enfermedad.ABSTRACT

the COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented challenge for science and society, it has required rapid and diverse responses from health systems, which need to reorganize in all its components to face it.Objective:
to determine knowledge level about COVID-19 in primary healthcare physicians of the Teaching North Polyclinic of the Placetas municipality, Villa Clara province, Cuba, in 2020.Methods:
a cross-sectional descriptive investigation was carried out in which theoretical methods were used analytical-synthetic and system approach; empirical ones questionnaire and the mathematical one to determine the absolute and relative values.Results:
the majority of the doctors were specialists in Comprehensive General Medicine, with an age range from 24 to 35 years, female sex with less than 5 years of professional experience and the absence of managerial positions predominated. The method of obtaining combined knowledge (self-preparation and teaching) prevailed, the indicator with the best qualification was prevention, and the most difficult was the concepts associated with the disease with an average level of general knowledge.Conclusions:
the primary health care physicians of the Teaching North Polyclinic had an average level of knowledge about COVID-19, they presented greater difficulties in relation to the concepts and a better mastery regarding the prevention and epidemiological aspects of the disease.
