Maternidade e trabalho: as empresas apoiam o cuidado à saúde materna e infantil? / Motherhood and work: Do companies support the maternal and child healthcare?

RESUMO

Objetivo: analisar a percepção de trabalhadoras sobre a participação das empresas na garantia do cuidado no pré-natal e amamentação. Métodos: estudo qualitativo que realizou análise de conteúdo de entrevistas a gestantes e nutrizes de um município do Rio Grande do Sul. Resultados: algumas empresas não validam o atestado médico, o que resulta na perda de benefícios oferecidos pela empresa. Gestantes que necessitam de cuidados especiais nem sempre conseguem mantê-los no ambiente de trabalho, forçando-as a solicitar demissão. A distância entre a residência ou creche e o trabalho dificulta a amamentação. Conclusões: as empresas desconhecem a Rede de Atenção à Saúde Materna e, embora cumpram a legislação trabalhista relacionada à gestação e aleitamento materno, esta não é suficiente para garantir o cuidado à saúde materna e infantil.

ABSTRACT

Objective: to analyse the perception of female workers on the participation of companies to ensure the pre-natalcare and breastfeeding. Methods: qualitative study that analyzed the content of interviews of pregnant and nursing mothers in a city in Rio Grande do Sul. Results: some companies don't validate the medical health certificate, what results in the lost of benefits offered by the companies. Pregnant womens who need special care can't always keep them in a workspace, which forces them to resign. The distance between the place of residence or daycare and the workplace hinders the nursing process. Conclusion: the companies don't recognize the flows of the Maternal Health Care Network, and in despite of that they obey to the labor laws related to pregnancy and breastfeeding, which is not enough to garantee the needed care to maternal and child care.
