RESUMO
O transplante cardíaco desenvolveu-se lentamente e tomou grande impulso com a utilização da ciclosporina como agente imunossupressor. Nos anos 1980, os trabalhos promissores com Shumway utilizando a ciclosporina possibilitaram um novo impulso na cirurgia. No estado do Paraná, Dr.Danton R.R.Loures foi o pioneiro e abriu espaço para que outros centros pudessem se desenvolver e realizar o transplante cardíaco.
ABSTRACT
Heart transplantation had slowly developed and had great impulse with the usage of cyclosporine as an immunosuppressive drug. In 1980's, the promise works of Shumway using cyclosporine gave a new increase in this surgery. In Parana state, Dr. Danton R. R. Loures was the pioneer and after that, others centers were able to develop and make the heart transplantation.
