Lazer, espaço urbano e educação em Paraisópolis: o instituto rugby para todos e os jogadores da comunidade local / Leisure, urban space and education in Paraisópolis: the rugby institute for all and the players of the local community

RESUMO

Este artigo tem como finalidade apresentar uma abordagem sobre o potencial dos valores do lazer, dentro da ótica de cidadania, em uma das maiores favelas de São Paulo, procurando enfatizar o aspecto histórico urbano e espacial, e os efeitos colaterais na distribuição de equipamentos para uma qualidade de vida melhor. E, ainda, entender qual a relevância do Instituto Rugby Para Todos (IRPT) na vida dos jogadores que vivem na comunidade de Paraisópolis e em uma sociedade onde o índice de pessoas carentes de direitos fundamentais tem sido algo preocupante e desafiador. Os relatos dos jogadores sobre as mudanças que o instituto trouxe para as suas vidas e os seus sentimentos para com o projeto são essenciais para a pesquisa.

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to present an approach regarding the potential of leisure values within the perspective of citizenship in one of the biggest slums in São Paulo, while seeking to emphasize on its spatial and urban-historical aspects and its collateral effects on distribution of equipment required to improve quality of life. The impact caused by Rugby Institute for All (IRPT) in the players lives in a society where the number of people in need of their fundamental rights has been something concerning and quite challenging. It is taken into account the various aspects mentioned by the players about changes related to their feelings after taking part in the project.
