Introduction:
from the 2000s, there was the advent of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (TDIC) with the popularization of the use of mobile devices and the emergence of applications, facilitating the dissemination of health information and guidelines for the population, contributing to a new perspective on health education (mHealth). In this way, the wide spreading power of mHealth and the increased use, by women of childbearing age, of mobile applications to obtain health information and guidance, have made mobile applications potential allies in health education carried out by professionals of health. Therefore, this research has as main theme the construction and validation of a mobile application for health education in the pregnancypuerperal cycle. The main objective was to develop a free mobile application for women, with guidance and information in order to meet the health needs of the pregnantpuerperal cycle; and the specific objectives were to identify, from the perspective of the pregnant women, the health needs about the pregnancypuerperal cycle and validate the application with the pregnant women through an online questionnaire, based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM ) and the quality characteristics of the Mobile Learning Evaluation (MoLEva) method.Method:
this is an applied methodological research, developed in three stages the first consisted of a qualitative research based on an interview on the agenda, carried out with 27 pregnant women from a university hospital, being submitted to Bardin's content analysis; the second was the development of the application's technological framework, using the Prototyping Life Cycle, and the design, using the UserCentered Design (DCU); and the third stage referred to the validation of the application, which took place with 30 pregnant women through an online questionnaire based on the TAM adapted with the preestablished quality characteristics of the MoLEva method. Results:
In relation to the first stage, 34 units of meaning emerged, which were grouped into 2 thematic categories related to the application's objectives and gave rise to the application's icons pregnancy, labor, childbirth, postpartum and curiosities. The second stage originated the application created in JavaScript programming language for hybrid software, available on the ANDROID and IOS platforms, with textual content presented in a simple way, visual organization with attractive colors that refer to the feminine and images that facilitate understanding, as well as organization intuitive functional; the third stage revealed, both in the narratives and in the statistical analysis, the significant level of satisfaction among pregnant women, with the validity index of the pedagogical category (0.97), the social category (0.98) and the technical category ( 0.99).Conclusions:
this research evidenced the steps to build the free mobile app Saber GBeing for health education in the pregnancypuerperal cycle by investigating the needs of information and guidance on health of pregnant women, the construction of the technological framework, design and application validation. After validation, the application's global content validity index (IVC = 0.98) and the Kappa index (Kappa = 0.96) were identified, demonstrating the satisfactory agreement of the pregnant
