La atención del paciente gravemente infectado habitualmente requiere la instalación de un catéter venoso central, debido a la multimedicación que requiere. La trombosis es una complicación común, aunque muchas veces desapercibidas, de los catéteres venosos centrales. En el presente reporte se presenta el caso de esta complicación y se discute el manejo.
