Percepção do enfermeiro sobre o cuidar do homem: uma perspectiva de gênero / The nurse and the care of the man from a gender perspective

RESUMO

O estudo tem como objeto compreender como o enfermeiro percebe o cuidar do homem na perspectiva de gênero. Tendo como objetivos gerais Analisar a percepção do enfermeiro acerca do cuidar da população masculina, e específicos Descrever a compreensão do enfermeiro sobre o cuidar da população masculina; Desvelar as particularidades da população masculina numa perspectiva de gênero expressas pelos enfermeiros e Discutir sobre a promoção do cuidado integral no cuidar do homem à luz da Teoria Humanista de Petterson e Zderad. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório-descritivo, com abordagem qualitativa. O cenário do estudo foi um hospital universitário situado no município do Rio de Janeiro, em unidades de internação clínica e cirúrgica, tendo sido os participantes 15 enfermeiros e 5 residentes de enfermagem. O instrumento de coleta de dados foi uma entrevista semiestruturada e para a análise dos dados foi aplicada a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Através da análise dos dados emergiram três categorias A visão do enfermeiro sobre o cuidar do homem, Estereótipos de gênero masculino reproduzidos pelo enfermeiro no cuidado e A promoção do cuidado integral ao homem na perspectiva do enfermeiro obstáculos e desafios. Os resultados mostram que mesmo o conceito de gênero se encontrando no centro da Política Nacional de Atenção Integral à Saúde do Homem (PNAISH), os enfermeiros demonstram dificuldades quanto ao entendimento e, consequentemente, em inseri-los e contextualizá-los, tanto em sua vida pessoal, bem como em sua prática profissional. Tais déficits podem estar associados à falta de preparo profissional desde a graduação, assim como nos serviços de educação continuada, além da representação coletiva no que se refere aos estereótipos de gênero masculino. Cabe, assim, ao enfermeiro, por meio do encontro dialógico, percebê-las, considerando as heterogeneidades dessa população. Conclui-se que vislumbrar o homem como único e singular em sua existencialidade, especificidades e necessidades próprias é um desafio para o cuidar, especificamente o de enfermagem, uma vez que diferentes homens exigem atenções também diferenciadas. Para tal, é imprescindível ampliar o debate sobre gênero, suas implicações para o cuidado e a capacitação profissional, para a garantia da integralidade do cuidado à população masculina.

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to understand how the nurse perceives the care of the man from a gender perspective and the following guiding questions What is the nurse's perception about the care of the man from a gender perspective? Considering this gender perspective, how can the nurse promote the integrality of care when caring for the man? Objective: To analyze the nurses 'perception about caring for the male population and specific objectives: to describe the nurses' understanding of caring for the male population, to reveal the perspective of the nurse related to caring for the male population and its particularities from a gender and discussing the promotion of integrality in caring for man in the light of the Humanist Theory of Paterson and Zderad. This is an exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The study scenario was a university hospital located in the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro, in clinical and surgical hospitalization units. The participants were 20 nurses from the established inclusion criteria. In the treatment of the testimonies we used the content analysis according to Bardin whose results were discussed in light of Paterson and Zrad's Humanistic Theory. It was observed that, although the concept of gender is at the center of the National Policy of Integral Health Attention to Men, health professionals still find it very difficult to insert them and contextualize it both in their personal practice as well as in their professional practice. Such deficits may be associated with a lack of professional qualification from college as well as in continuing care services. Nurses verbalized that the caregiver's gender may interfere with care. Some particularities expressed by nurses in the care of the male population were identified. Regarding Integrality, the respondents presented difficulties in answering on how to take care of the man completely. They pointed to the nursing consultation as a factor of great relevance. Highlighting the link and non-verbal communication as essential for the promotion of individualized and comprehensive care for the male population. Conclusion: The present study made it possible to expand the debate about the subjectivity of the masculine universe, reflecting on the recognition of its relative particularities and its implications for nursing care. The results of this research will provide nurses with the necessary tools to improve nursing care planning aimed at the promotion, maintenance and restoration of human health. This contributing to an individualized care that truly satisfies the specific demands of man, inserting them as the protagonist of care, attending them in their integrality. It is hoped that this study will contribute to and stimulate further research on the subject, as well as broaden the debate about gender and its implications for care, especially with regard to human health.
