Los tumores de glándulas salivales comprenden un grupo heterogéneo de lesiones con características clínico-patológicas y biológicas distintivas. Objetivo:
Presentar la experiencia obtenida en el estado Nueva Esparta en el diagnóstico anatomo-patológico de tumores de las glándulas salivales. Pacientes ymétodo:
Revisamos un total de 27 casos en un periodo de 5 años (2005-2010), de casos autóctonos del Estado Nueva Esparta.Resultados:
La glándula parótida fue la más frecuentemente afectada, tanto con neoplasia benigna como maligna. El adenoma pleomórfico fue el tumor benigno más frecuente, así como en mujeres. Las neoplasias malignas representaron un 30% del material evaluado, la mayoría fueron tumores de comportamiento agresivo.Conclusión:
Consideramos importante realizar un diagnóstico y tratamiento precoz en estos pacientes, para descartar patología maligna por su comportamiento agresivo(AU)ABSTRACT

Parotid gland was the most frequently affected, both with benign neoplasm as malignant. The Pleomorphic adenoma was the most frequent benign tumor, as well as in women. Malignant neoplasms accounted for 30% of the evaluated material, most were tumors of aggressive behavior.Conclusion:
We consider it important to make an early diagnosis and treatment in these patients, to rule out malignant pathology for his aggressive behavior(AU)
