Percepción estudiantil sobre la pesquisa activa para detectar la COVID-19 en Cuba / Student perception on active screening to detect COVID-19 in Cuba

RESUMEN

RESUMEN Fundamento la pesquisa activa contra la COVID-19 por estudiantes de Medicina ha sido una de las estrategias del Ministerio de Salud Pública de Cuba para combatir la pandemia. Objetivo: analizar la percepción que tienen los estudiantes de Medicina sobre las actividades de pesquisa comunitaria para la detección de la COVID 19. Métodos: se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en el Policlínico Universitario "Ramón López Peña" de Santiago de Cuba entre noviembre 2020-enero 2021. Se utilizaron métodos teóricos para la recogida de información y fundamentación de la investigación, y empíricos un cuestionario sobre la percepción del estudiante sobre la realización de las pesquisas activas. Resultados: todos los estudiantes consideraron la pesquisa activa como necesaria e imprescindible, la mayoría se sintió motivado por la labor realizada, como aporte a su desarrollo profesional y parte de su estrategia curricular; sin embargo algunos consideraron esta labor como un freno para el desarrollo del proceso docente-educativo a distancia. La dificultad más reportada fue sentir temor a contagiarse. Conclusiones: los estudiantes percibieron las ventajas de realizar las pesquisas en pos de su futuro desarrollo profesional, pero consideraron que puede obstaculizar el desarrollo del proceso docente-educativo a distancia.

ABSTRACT Background: active screening against COVID-19 by medical students has been one of the strategies of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health to face the pandemic. Objective: to analyze the perception that medical students have about community screening activities for the detection of COVID 19. Methods: a cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out at the "Ramón López Peña" University Polyclinic in Santiago de Cuba from November 2020 to January 2021. Theoretical methods were used for the collection of information and the foundation of the research, and empirical methods: a questionnaire on the student's perception on active screening. Results: all the students considered active research as necessary and essential, the majority felt motivated by the work carried out, as a contribution to their professional development and part of their curricular strategy; however, some of them considered this work as a brake on the development of the distance teaching-learning process. The feeling of fear about being infected was the most reported difficulty. Conclusions: the students perceived the advantages of carrying out the research in pursuit of their future professional development, but they considered that it can hinder the development of the distance learning teaching-learning process.
