Producción científica sobre dengue en SciELO Regional, enero 2013-septiembre 2020

RESUMEN

RESUMEN Introducción: El análisis documental de la producción científica sobre dengue, indizada en SciELO Regional ofrece un mayor alcance y visibilidad para Latinoamérica y el Caribe. Objetivo: Reconocer a SciELO Regional como un recurso de visibilidad y posicionamiento de la producción científica en el contexto Latinoamericano. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo a través del método de análisis documental, en el período de enero 2013-septiembre 2020. El universo fue el total de los artículos obtenidos en la búsqueda directa. Se tomó como criterio de exclusión el no utilizar la materia dengue y los artículos duplicados. Resultados: En el análisis se incluyeron 1 105 artículos de estos 152 duplicados y para la revisión se obtuvieron 953 artículos. Brasil alcanzó la mayor producción como país; además sus revistas contribuyeron con la mayor cantidad de artículos publicados; en el año 2016. Conclusiones: SciELO regional constituye una herramienta de gran utilidad para la obtención e intercambio de información científica. Los resultados conseguidos en esta investigación apuntan a que la ciencia generada en Latinoamérica, el Caribe, España y Portugal, alcanzan un aumento en su difusión y visibilidad.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Document analysis of the scientific production about dengue indexed in SciELO Regional provides greater scope and visibility for Latin America and the Caribbean. Objective: Recognize SciELO Regional as a resource enhancing the visibility and positioning of scientific production in the Latin American context. Methods: A descriptive study based on document analysis was conducted in the period extending from January 2013 to September 2020. The study universe was all the papers obtained by direct search. The exclusion criteria were not dealing with the topic of dengue and duplicate papers. Results: Of the total 1 105 papers analyzed, 152 were duplicates and 953 were retained for review. Brazil achieved the greatest production as a country, and its journals contributed the largest number of published papers in the year 2016. Conclusions: Results point to SciELO Regional as a resource enhancing visibility, positioning and good practices for information analysis and retrieval, where frontiers are not distinguished in terms of image, access and resources.
