Aspectos novedosos de la COVID-19 / Novel aspects of COVID - 19

RESUMEN

Introducción: El SARS-CoV2 es el agente causante del COVID-19, que ha cobrado la vida de miles de personas en el mundo tras su inicio en Wuhan en el año 2019. Se realizó una investigación sobre las características del COVID-19 basada en la amenaza que representa para la República de Cuba esta enfermedad. Objetivo: Describir las principales características del virus, sus antecedentes y las diversas manifestaciones clínicas, evolución y diagnóstico tanto clínico como de laboratorio, y la conducta a seguir ante estos enfermos y los cuidados a observar en la persona. Método: Se desarrolló una revisión bibliográfica de los principales artículos publicados en la prensa especializada, a través de los buscadores Pubmed, Hinari, SciELO, Scholar Google de los cuales se escogieron 23 artículos. Conclusiones: La COVID-19 es una enfermedad con una alta contagiosidad y mortalidad no despreciable, para lo cual se deben tomar medidas urgentes de prevención y tratamiento de los enfermos(AU)

ABSTRACT

Introduction: SARS-CoV-2 is the causative agent of COVID-19, which has claimed the lives of thousands of people in the world after its onset in Wuhan in 2019. An investigation was carried out on the characteristics of Covid-19 based on in the threat that this disease represents for the Republic of Cuba. Objective: To describe the main characteristics of the virus, its antecedents and the various clinical manifestations, clinical and laboratory evolution and diagnosis, and the behavior to be followed in these patients and the care to be observed in the person. Method: A bibliographic review of the main articles published in the specialized press was developed, through Pubmed, Hinari, SciELO, Scholar Google search engines, 23 articles were chosen. Conclusions: Covid-19 is a disease with high contagion and non-negligible mortality, for which urgent measures of prevention and treatment of the patients must be taken(AU)
