Violencia ginecobstétrica en mujeres gestantes, lactantes y en postparto en San Juan de Pasto, Nariño, Colombia / Gynecobstetric violence in pregnant, lactating and postpartum women in San Juan de Pasto, Nariño, Colombia

RESUMEN

Las violencias ginecobstétricas se relacionan con el maltrato experimentado por una mujer cuando acude a la atención en salud durante su proceso de gestación, parto o postparto. En San Juan de Pasto-Colombia el estudio del tema es reciente y necesario como recurso para mitigar el problema, por ello se propone un estudio cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo con diseño transversal para identificar la presencia y formas de violencias ginecobstétricas experimentadas por una muestra incidental de 66 mujeres gestantes, lactantes y en postparto atendidas en instituciones de salud de tercer nivel de la ciudad. La recolección de información se realizó aplicando el "Cuestionario VGO" de manera individual, el cual fue creado por las investigadoras y validado por público objetivo y juicio de expertos. Los resultados indican que existen conocimientos básicos sobre el tema y son escasos los reportes de violencias experimentadas, sin embargo, se aprecian resultados bajos pero no despreciables en los cuales las mujeres señalan que los reproches, críticas o comentarios inapropiados provienen del personal de enfermería o administrativos de las instituciones en las que son atendidas, algunas mujeres se sintieron maltratadas de forma verbal y/o psicológica en el momento de la atención al parto por el personal de enfermería, también señalaron en algunos casos que no hubo privacidad cuando se realizaron tactos o exploraciones vaginales por la presencia de estudiantes de medicina sin su consentimiento durante el procedimiento. Finalmente se evidencia que la forma de violencia más frecuente es el impedir el ingreso de la pareja o familiar como soporte emocional durante el parto.

ABSTRACT

Obstetric-gynecological violence is related to the mistreatment experienced by a woman when she attends health care during her pregnancy, childbirth or postpartum process. In San Juan de Pasto-Colombia, the study of the subject is recent and necessary as a resource to mitigate the problem, for this reason a quantitative descriptive study with a cross-sectional design is proposed to identify the presence and forms of gynecological violence experienced by an incidental sample of 66 pregnant, lactating and postpartum women attended in third-level health institutions in the city. The information was collected by applying the "VGO Questionnaire" individually, which was created by the researchers and validated by the target audience and expert judgment. The results indicate that there is basic knowledge on the subject and there are few reports of experienced violence, however, low but not insignificant results can be seen in which women point out that the reproaches, criticisms or inappropriate comments come from the nursing or administrative staff. Of the institutions in which they are cared for, some women felt verbally and/or psychologically mistreated at the time of delivery care by the nursing staff, they also pointed out in some cases that there was no privacy when touches or examinations were performed due to the presence of medical students without their consent during the procedure, finally it is evident that the most frequent form of violence is preventing the entry of the partner or family member as emotional support during childbirth.
