Manual de atención temprana del lenguaje para padres de niños con síndrome de Down entre 0 y 12 meses / Early care of language manual for parents of children with Down syndrome from 0 to 12 months

RESUMEN

Esta investigación es un estudio de un diseño investigación-acción, el cual tiene como fin la creación de un manual de atención temprana del lenguaje para padres de niños con síndrome de Down entre 0 y 12 meses. La atención temprana es un conjunto de intervenciones dirigidas a niños de 0 a 6 años, a la familia y su entorno, con el objetivo de dar una respuesta eficaz a las necesidades que presentan los niños con síndrome de Down (SD).Para llevar a cabo esta investigación se realizó una revisión bibliográfica, luego se aplicaron entrevistas semi-estructuradas a padres de niños con síndrome de Down atendidos en el Hospital Padre Hurtado, y a fonoaudiólogos de diversas instituciones de educación o salud. Además de esto, se aplicó una pauta de cotejo a los fonoaudiólogos para corrección del manual. Los resultados obtenidos a partir de la literatura orientaron el trabajo el contenido mínimo del manual. Los padres dieron a conocer las necesidades de información sobre la atención temprana sobre lenguaje para sus hijos, y los fonoaudiólogos entregaron los contenidos que debiese tener este manual. Conclusión: el eje temático central del manual se centra en actividades dirigidas a la estimulación de los precursores del lenguaje a través de actividades dirigidas y en rutinas de la vida diaria. ABSTRACT

This is a research study aimed at the creation of a manual of early language intervention for parents of children with Down syndrome from 0 to 12 months.Early intervention, meaning a set of interventions targeting children aged 0-6, to the family and its surroundings, intends to give an effective response to the needs of children with Down syndrome (SD).First a review of current literature was conducted, then semi-structured interviews were applied to parents of children with Down syndrome treated at Hospital Padre Hurtado, and to speech therapists of various educational or health institutions. Additionally, a correction survey of the manual was applied to speech therapists.The results obtained from the literature guided the minimum contents of the manual. Parents asked for more information about the language needs of their children, and the speech therapists developed the content that should be included in the manual. Conclusion: the thematic centerpiece of the manual focuses on activities aimed at stimulation of early language development through activities and routines of everyday life.Key words: Down Syndrome, speech, early intervention, manual.
