RESUMEN

En el presente trabajo pretendemos abordar y analizar la pieza cinematográfica Small Axe Mangrove, basada en las experiencias de lucha por parte de la comunidad negra inmigrante en Gran Bretaña contra el racismo y la persecución policial, para dar cuenta de la exclusión y opresión que sufre esta comunidad y de cómo se organizan y ofrecen resistencia. Las estrategias empleadas durante el juicio por parte de lxs demandadxs, alientan la reflexión sobre las formas en que el racismo es institucionalizado por los distintos organismos del Estado y los desafíos que deben superar los colectivos antirracistas para ganar espacios y hacer oír sus voces. Los conceptos de "orientalismo" de Said, "voces subalternas" de Guha y "cuerpos visibilizados" de Bidaseca servirán de guía para contextualizar esta película y ofrecer una visión más analítica de los hechos

ABSTRACT

In the present work we intend to approach and analyse the film Small Axe Mangrove, based on the struggle of part of the immigrant black community in Great Britain against racism and police harassment, considering the exclusion this community suffers and how they organize and resist. The strategies employed by the defendants during the trial encourage the thought over the ways racism is institutionalized through different state organisms and the challenges anti racist collectives must overcome to gain space and make their voices heard. The concepts of "orientalism" by Said, "subaltern voices" by Guha and "visibilized bodies" by Bidaseca will serve as guidance to contextualize the movie and offer a more analytical view of events.
