RESUMO

Com o advento das obras de Schopenhauer e Freud, o que é admissível e inadmissível em termos de sexualidade ultrapassa o senso comum e adquire o estatuto de objeto de conhecimento. No caso do segundo, na vigésima das Conferências introdutórias à psicanálise (1916-1917), o texto sintetiza os estudos clínicos e teóricos de Freud a respeito, especialmente no que concerne à conexão entre as perversões e a sexualidade infantil. No caso do primeiro, trata-se de uma indagação metafísica acerca da sexualidade em geral e do homossexualismo em particular. O título do artigo se refere às dificuldades que o tema naturalmente oferece em termos de linguagem e às formas pelas quais os autores contornaram esse problema e estabeleceram seus pensamentos apesar das resistências que enfrentaram junto a seus respectivos públicos.

ABSTRACT

With the advent of the works of Schopenhauer and Freud, what is admissible and inadmissible in terms of sexuality goes beyond common sense and acquires the status of object of knowledge. In the case of the second, in the twentieth of the Introductory Lectures on Psychoanalysis (1916-1917), the text brings together Freud's clinical and theoretical studies on this, especially regarding the connection between perversions and the sexual life of the children. In the case of the first thinker, it is a metaphysical inquiry into sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular. The title of the article refers to the difficulties that the theme naturally offers in terms of language and the ways in which the authors have circumvented this problem and established their thoughts despite the resistances they faced with their respective audiences.
