Nível de conhecimento de profissionais e estudantes de odontologia sobre abuso infantil: uma revisão integrativa / Level of knowledge of professionals and dentistry students regarding child abuse: an integrative review

RESUMO

Após promulgação do Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA) os casos de violência infantil obtiveram maior destaque junto a toda sociedade brasileira. Como os demais profissionais de Saúde, o Cirurgião-Dentista, por atuar na área de cabeça e pescoço está apto a identificar e diagnosticar lesões suspeitas de violência infantil, procedendo denúncia de tais casos uma vez que é seu dever de zelar pela saúde e dignidade de seu paciente conforme preconiza o Código de Ética Odontológico. O presente estudo teve por objetivo analisar o nível de conhecimento de Cirurgiões-dentistas e acadêmicos em Odontologia a respeito dos maus-tratos infantis. Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura do tipo integrativa realizada a partir de buscas nas Bases Eletrônicas de Dados Literatura Latino-americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) Us National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health (PubMed) e Portal de Periódicos da Capes. A maioria dos estudos analisados demonstrou que tanto os profissionais quanto os acadêmicos de Odontologia não possuem conhecimento adequado sobre maus tratos infantis e têm dificuldade em diagnosticar e encaminhar de forma correta os casos suspeitos. Percebeu-se que existe uma lacuna sobre o assunto e sugere-se que o tema tenha uma abordagem mais aprofundada durante a graduação de modo a preparar o futuro profissional para o enfrentamento deste problema.

ABSTRACT

After the enactment of the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA), cases of child violence gained greater prominence in all Brazilian society. Like other health professionals, the dentist, by acting in the head and neck area, is able to identify and diagnose lesions suspected of child violence, proceeding to denounce such cases since it is his duty to ensure the health and dignity of your patient as recommended in the Dental Code of Ethics. This study aims to analyze the level of knowledge of Dental Surgeons and dentistry students regarding child abuse. This is an integrative literature review carried out based on searches in the Electronic Databases Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) Us National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health (PubMed) and Portal da Capes. Most of the studies analyzed have shown that both dental professionals and academics do not have adequate knowledge about child abuse and have difficulty in diagnosing and referring suspected cases correctly. It was noticed that there is a gap on the subject and it is suggested that the theme has a more in-depth approach during graduation in order to prepare the future professional to face this problem:
