A saúde mental de mulheres imigrantes na universidade / Mental health of immigrant women at the university

RESUMO

A migração feminina é um fenômeno que acompanha as diversas transformações históricas da humanidade. Em tempos de globalização e busca de autonomia via formação educativa de Ensino Superior, é relevante refletir sobre a inclusão e permanência dessas imigrantes no contexto universitário e, sobretudo, os impactos decorrentes da mudança de cultura. Sendo assim, este trabalho busca compreender os impactos psicológicos da imigração às mulheres imigrantes universitárias. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, de caráter exploratório e descritivo. Participaram do estudo sete estudantes da Universidade Federal da Integração Latino-Americana (UNILA), oriundas de quatro países da América Latina Colômbia, Haiti, Venezuela e Uruguai. Para coleta de dados foi utilizado um roteiro de entrevista semiestruturada e um formulário sociodemográfico intercultural. As entrevistas foram analisadas seguindo as premissas da técnica da Análise de Conteúdo, e como principais resultados foram identificados "experiências de violências e discriminações", formas de "expressão de sofrimento" e possibilidade de "emancipação feminina na imigração universitária". O estudo corrobora a importância de políticas institucionais no campo pedagógico, social e psicológico sensíveis às experiências migratórias das imigrantes universitárias.

ABSTRACT

Female migration is a phenomenon that accompanies the various historical transformations of humanity. In times of globalization and the search for autonomy through higher education, it is relevant to reflect on the inclusion and permanence of these immigrants in the university context and, above all, the impacts resulting from the cultural transition. Therefore, this study seeks to understand the psychological impacts of immigration on college-educated immigrant women. This is a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study. Seven students from the Federal University of Latin American Integration (UNILA), from four Latin American countries have participated in the study Colombia, Haiti, Venezuela, and Uruguay. For data collection, a semi-structured interview script and an intercultural sociodemographic form were used. The interviews were analyzed following the premises of the Content Analysis technique, and as main results were identified "Experiences of violence and discrimination"; the forms of "Expression of suffering", and the possibility of "Female emancipation in university immigration". The study corroborates the importance of institutional policies in the pedagogical, social, and psychological fields that are sensitive to the migratory experiences of women university students.
