Lesões bucomaxilofaciais decorrentes de violência doméstica contra mulheres: uma revisão integrativa / Oral and maxillofacial injuries resulting from domestic violence against women - an integrative review

RESUMO

A violência doméstica contra a mulher tem sido considerada um grave problema de saúde pública no Brasil e em vários países do mundo. O cirurgião-dentista atua no tratamento da enfermidade causada por agressões, e também possui obrigação ética-legal no dever de conscientizar e registrar casos onde suas pacientes tenham sido vítimas. O presente estudo analisou os principais tipos de lesões bucomaxilofaciais decorrentes de violência doméstica contra mulheres, e suas causas, traçando um perfil de agressores e vítimas contribuindo para que o cirurgião-dentista tenha conhecimento do tema atuando na prevenção, acolhimento, atendimento e encaminhamento das vítimas. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura com buscas realizadas nas bases de dados Pubmed, Bireme, LILACS, SciELO, utilizando descritores e seus sinônimos na língua portuguesa e língua inglesa, incluindo estudos publicados entre 2011 e 2021 para a análise dos resultados. Observou-se que as vítimas de violência doméstica em sua maioria são mulheres jovens, que convivem ou conviveram com os agressores, violentadas com agressões que lesam estruturas maxilomandibulares e isso decorre da superexposição anatômica dessa região a traumas que incluem lesões teciduais e ósseas, cabendo ao cirurgião-dentista estar atento não só ao reconhecimento dos casos, mas corroborar no tratamento das vítimas e no enfrentamento desse tipo de violência em nossa sociedade

ABSTRACT

Domestic violence against women has been considered a serious public health problem in Brazil and in several countries around the world. The dentist works in the treatment of disease caused by aggression, and also has an ethical-legal obligation in the duty to raise awareness and register cases where their patients have been victims. The present study analyzed the main types of oral and maxillofacial injuries resulting from domestic violence against women, and their causes, outlining a profile of aggressors and victims, contributing to the dentist's knowledge of the subject, acting in the prevention, reception, care and referral of victims. This is an integrative literature review with searches performed in Pubmed, Bireme, LILACS, SciELO databases, using descriptors and their synonyms in Portuguese and English, including studies published between 2011 and 2021 for the analysis of results. It was observed that the victims of domestic violence are mostly young women, who live or have lived with the aggressors, violated with aggressions that damage maxillomandibular structures and this is due to the anatomical overexposure of this region to traumas that include tissue and bone injuries, being the responsibility of the dentist to be attentive not only to the recognition of the cases, but to corroborate in the treatment of victims and in the confrontation of this type of violence in our society
