A violência baseada em gênero na perspectiva das crianças: uma investigação temática / Gender-based violence from the perspective of children: a thematic investigation

Resumo A violência baseada na infância pode ser discutida diante da desigualdade de gênero, identificada na demarcação social de brinquedos, brincadeiras e criatividade. Dessa forma, dialogar com as crianças acerca desse assunto estimula a consciência crítica e o protagonismo, proporcionando a ressignificação de padrões, comportamentos e estereótipos discriminatórios pautados pelo gênero. O objetivo deste artigo foi compreender as percepções de crianças entre 8 e 11 anos, de uma Organização Não Governamental (ONG), sobre a violência baseada em gênero (VBG) durante a infância. Realizou-se uma investigação temática, com 32 crianças, fundamentada na teoria dialógica de Paulo Freire. Para as crianças, a VBG é uma manifestação da violência caracterizada pelo desrespeito e pela multicausalidade. Identificaram, ainda, algumas estratégias e atores para o enfrentamento do problema. Ações como essas potencializam a postura crítica por meio da educação popular em saúde numa perspectiva participativa e dialógica.

ABSTRACT

Abstract Gender-based violence in childhood can be discussed in the face of gender inequality, identified in the social demarcation in toys, games, and creativity. Therefore, dialoguing with children on this subject stimulates critical awareness and protagonism, providing the resignification of discriminatory patterns, behaviors, and stereotypes based on gender. The objective of this article was to understand the perceptions of children between 8 and 11 years of age, of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) about gender-based violence (GBV) during childhood. A thematic investigation was carried out with 32 children, anchored in Paulo Freire's dialogical theory. For children, GBV is a manifestation of violence characterized by disrespect and multicausality. They also identified some strategies and actors for coping with the problem. Actions such as these enhance the critical posture by the articulation of popular health education in a participative and dialogical perspective.
