RESUMO
IntroduçaÌo A siÌndrome de Down eÌ uma alteraçaÌo cromossoÌmica que ocasiona vaÌrias carac- teriÌsticas especiÌficas aos seus portadores, entre elas a predisposiçaÌo ao excesso de peso e crescimento diferenciado, necessitando de acompanhamento e correta avaliaçaÌo nutricional de acordo com curvas especiÌficas para esta populaçaÌo. MeÌtodo Avaliou-se o estado nutri- cional e o consumo alimentar de crianças e adolescentes com siÌndrome de Down da APAE de Laranjeiras do Sul, PR. Participaram da pesquisa 15 crianças e adolescentes, de ambos os geÌneros, com idades de 3 a 16 anos. Resultados:
Obteve-se que 93% da amostra estavam com o estado nutricional adequado e 7% com excesso de peso. Observou-se que o consumo de carboidratos e lipiÌdeos estava de acordo com as recomendaçoÌes dieteÌticas. Somente o consumo de proteiÌnas ficou acima das recomendaçoÌes. ConclusoÌes Verificou-se que o consumo alimentar e o estado nutricional das crianças e adolescentes da APAE de Laranjeiras do Sul estaÌo adequados.(AU)ABSTRACT
Introduction:
The Down syndrome is a chromosomal alteration which bring on several features specific to bearers including the predisposition to overweight and differentiated growth, requi- ring proper monitoring and nutritional assessment in accordance with curves specific to this population.Methods:
We evaluated the nutritional status and food consumption of children and adolescents with Down syndrome in APAE in Laranjeiras do Sul, PR. Fifteen children and adolescents of both genders, aged from 3 to 17 years, participated in the study.Results:
It was found that 93% of the sample had an adequate nutritional status and 7% overweight, consumption of carbohydrates and lipids was agreement with dietary recommendations, only the protein consumption was above the recommendations.Conclusions:
It was found that food consumption and nutritional status of children and adolescents APAE Laranjeiras do Sul is appropriate.(AU)
