RESUMO

Com o aumento da prevalência da obesidade diversas dietas para o tratamento desta doença têm sido descritas. Para a população pediátrica, no entanto, existem poucos estudos avaliando o efeito de diferentes intervenções dietoterápicas. Até o momento, a redução calórica, mais do que a alteração na composição dessas dietas, parece ser o principal fator na redução do peso.

ABSTRACT

With the increasing prevalence of obesity different diets for the treatment of this disease have been described. For the pediatric population, however, there are few studies evaluation the effect of different dietary interventions. So far, caloric reduction rather than the change in the composition of these diets seem to be the main factor in reducing weight.
