Introducción: La evolución y crecimiento de la anatomía comociencia hicieron que adquiera un lenguaje técnico propiodestinado a facilitar la comunicación entre profesionales de lasalud alrededor del mundo evitando el uso de distintas denominaciones para un mismo objeto. Objetivos: Remarcar la importancia del conocimiento y lautilización de la TAI de la región del mediastino por el cirujano general, en el contexto de la globalización de la información medica. Material y métodos: Durante el periodo Junio/2013-Enero/2014,se realizó una encuesta anónima a 86 médicos especialistas en Cirugía General. ABSTRACT

Introduction: The evolution and growth of anatomy as a sciencemade it acquires its own technical language to facilitate communication between health professionals around the world avoiding the use of different names for the same object. Objectives: To emphasize the importance of knowledge and theuse of TAI of the region of the mediastinum by the generalsurgeon, in the context of the globalization of health information.
