Tratamiento quirúrgico en fracturas de tobillo y sus complicaciones / Surgical treatment of ankle fractures and its complications

RESUMEN

Introducción: Las fracturas maleolares son articulares. Su tratamiento pretende reestablecer las relaciones anatómicas normales y procurar a la articulación la suficiente estabilidad para permitirle una movilización precoz. El objetivo del presente trabajo es mostrar nuestra experiencia en el manejo quirúrgico de las fracturas de tobillo tratadas en nuestro servicio. Objetivo:Mostrar nuestra experiencia con el tratamiento quirúrgico de las fracturas de tobillo. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio retrospectivo en el que se revisaron todas las fracturas de tobillo de indicación quirúrgica. Todos los pacientes fueron intervenidos en el Hospital Aeronáutico Central por el mismo equipo quirúrgico entre junio del 2009 y junio del 2012. Resultados: Obtuvimos resultados de muy bueno a excelente en todos los pacientes al ser evaluados bajo el store de Gay and Evrard, exceptuando un caso de mal resultado producto de una seudoartrosis sintomática. Conclusión: La reducción interna y fijación estable en las fracturas de tobillo es la mejor alternativa; ya que permite una movilización precoz y mejor resultado funcional sin incrementar la aparición de complicaciones.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The malleolar fractures are joint. Your treatment should restore the normal anatomical relationships and seek toarticulation enough stability to allow early mobilization.The aim of this paper is to show our experience in the surgicalmanagement of ankle fractures treated in our department.Objective: To show our experience with thesurgical treatment of ankl fractures.Materials and Methods: A retrospective study in which all anklefractures were reviewed surgical indication was made. All patients were operated in the Central Aeronautical Hospital by the samesurgical team between June 2009 and June 2012. Results: We obtained results from very good to excellent in allpatients to be evaluated under the store of Gay and Evrard, except a case of poor outcome product of a symptomatic nonunion. Conclusion: The reduction and stable internal fixation of ankle fractures is the best alternative; because it allowsearly mobilization and better functional outcome without increasing the occurrence of complications.
