RESUMEN
Se presentó el caso de un paciente masculino con dolor en fosa ilíaca derecha, vómitos, cuadro febril agudo asociado a leucocitosis, cuyo diagnóstico preoperatorio fue apendicitis aguda. Se realiza laparotomía con apendicectomía luego de constatarse apendicitis gangrenosa por torsión del apéndice vermiforme. Evoluciona favorablemente.
ABSTRACT
A male patient with pain in the rigth iliac fossa, vomiting, acute fever picture associated with leukocytosis was presentedand the preoperatory diagnosis of acute appendicitis was performed. Laparatomy with appendectomy was carried out after detecting gangrenous appendicitis by torsion of the vermiform appendix and the patient evolved successfully.
