RESUMEN
La alopecia por tracción es un padecimiento muy frecuente en niñas en edad escolar y mujeres jóvenes, condicionado por el hábito sociocultural de recoger el pelo, de manera que se ejerce una fuerte acción tensora en la piel del cuero cabelludo. En etapas iniciales es reversible y en fases tardías, llega a ocasionar una alopecia cicatricial permanente. Los peinados modernos tienen como característica el tensionar y tirar el pelo, ocasionando áreas de alopecia desde temprana edad.
ABSTRACT
Traction alopecia is more common in school-age girls and young women, conditioned by the cultural habit of collecting hair so that it exerts a strong tensile action on the scalp skin. In early stages it is reversible, and in later stages cause permanent scarring alopecia. Modern hairstyles are characteristic stress and pull the hair causing areas of alopecia from an early age.
