Intervención educativa sobre enfermedades benignas mamarias y autoexamen de mama / Educational intervention about benign breast diseases and breast self-exam

RESUMEN

Introducción: la importancia de las mastopatías benignas radica en varios aspectos, sus formas clínicas pueden confundirse con el cáncer, en muchos casos resultan asintomáticas y pueden desencadenar en un cáncer. Objetivo: identificar el nivel de conocimientos sobre las afecciones benignas mamarias y el autoexamen de mama de las mujeres de un consultorio médico, e incrementar los mismos a través de una intervención educativa. Métodos: se realizó un estudio de intervención con las mujeres pertenecientes a la comunidad del consultorio 19 del policlínico "Raúl Sánchez" en el periodo de enero a julio de 2015. El universo estuvo constituido por la totalidad de las féminas del consultorio en las edades de 20 a 49 años (N= 121), la muestra quedó conformada por las 45 que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión deseo de participar en la investigación y ausencia de enfermedad invalidante que afectara su capacidad intelectual o física. Resultados: el nivel de conocimientos de las mujeres sobre las enfermedades benignas mamarias fue insuficiente. Después de la intervención realizada estos se elevaron y se logró cambiar la percepción de las mujeres, que reflexionaron de forma conveniente sobre la importancia de la realización del autoexamen de mama en esta etapa de la vida. Conclusiones: se logró elevar los conocimientos de las mujeres sobre las enfermedades mamarias benignas, así como cambiar la actitud de las mismas hacia el autoexamen de mama, reconociéndolo como medio de considerable valor para el diagnóstico precoz de afecciones mamarias(AU)

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The importance of the benign mastopathies resides in several aspects, its clinical forms can be mistaken with cancer, in many cases they are without symptoms and they can unchain a cancer. Objective: To increase the knowledge of the women in aspects related with the mammary benign affections and the breast self-exploration. Methods: there was an intervention study with the women belonging to the community of the clinic 19 of the health center Raúl Sánchez in the period of january to july of 2015. The universe was entirety constituted of women's in the ages from 20 to 49 years (N= 121), the sample for patients that completed the following inclusion approaches the desire of participating in the investigation, and absence of illness that affected their intellectual or physical capacity. Results: The knowledge of the women on the mammary benign illnesses is insufficient, getting to elevate these after the carried out intervention. It was possible to change the perception of the women that reflected in a convenient way, after the intervention, in the face of the importance of the realization of the mamma self-test in this stage of the life. Conclusions: We achieve to elevate the knowledge of woman about Mammary Benning Illness, as well change the attitude about mamma self-test, acknowledging it as middle of elevated value to the early diagnostic of mamma affections(AU)
