Tradução e adaptação cultural da escala ICARS-BR na língua portuguesa do Brasil / Translation and cultural adaptation of the scale ICARS-BR in the portuguese language of Brazil

RESUMO

Objetivo ­ Traduzir e adaptar culturalmente a escala ICARS-BR na língua portuguesa do Brasil. Métodos ­ Foi realizada a tradução por dois avaliadores, criada uma terceira versão pelos pesquisadores e então foi feita a retrotradução por um terceiro pesquisador, resultando em uma versão pré-final da escala ICARS na língua portuguesa no contexto cultural brasileiro e depois foram avaliados 5 pacientes com diferentes tipos de ataxia hereditária com a mesma. Resultados ­ Após a tradução, uma avaliação com a população da amostra n=5, com idade média de 35,6±7,2 anos, o resultado médio total de cada item foi no item 1 de postura e disfunções de marcha 17,4±9,4 pontos; no item 2 de funções cinéticas 17,8±9,0 pontos; no item 3 de desordens de fala 2,6±1,5 pontos; no item 4 de desordens oculomotoras 1±0,7 pontos. A média total do escore da escala ICARS-BR foi de 38,8±16,2 pontos. Conclusão ­ A escala ICARS-BR foi traduzida e adaptada culturalmente na língua portuguesa do Brasil.

ABSTRACT

Objective ­ To translate and culturally adapt the ICARS-BR scale on the Portuguese language of Brazil. Methods ­ The ICARS scale was translated by two translators, created a third version agreed among the researchers and then retrotranslated by a third translator, creating thus a pre-final version on the Portuguese language in the Brazilian cultural context and then 5 patients with different types of spinocerebellar ataxia were assessed. Results ­ After the translation, a evaluation of 5 patients, with age of 35.6±7.2 years old, showed as a total medium of each item as in the item 1 of posture and gait disturbance 17.4±9.4, in the item 2 in kinetic function 17.8±9.0, in the item 3 of speech disorders 2.6±1.5; in the item 4 of oculomotor disorders 1±0.7. And a total medium of the ICARSBR scale of 38.8±16.2. Conclusions ­ The scale ICARS-BR was translated and culturally adapted in the Portuguese language of Brazil.
