ABSTRACT
The objective of the present work was to determine the release of copper, tin and mercury from three dental amalgams, free from zinc, being one conventional and the others two with high contents of copper. Seventy five test samples were prepared and immersed in artificial saliva for 32 days at room temperature with constant stirring. Periodically the cooper, tin and mercury contents of the artificial saliva were determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. It is concluded that the amalgams examined differ with respect to their liberation of corrosion products formed in saliva artificial
