A relação profissional-paciente na graduação: inserção e possibilidades a partir do contexto curricular / The professional-patient relation in undergraduate courses: insertion and possibilities based on the curricular context

RESUMO
De acordo com as habilidades e competências exigidas pelas diretrizes curriculares para o curso de odontologia, o graduando deve ser capaz de comunicar-se com pacientes, com profissionais da saúde e com a comunidade em geral. Para despertar essas competências interpessoais, as vivências durante a graduação são essenciais . Com o objetivo de recolher elementos da nova matriz curricular e dos projetos de extensão e pesquisa voltados à graduação que contemplassem, explícita ou implicitamente, a relação profissional-paciente na Faculdade de Odontologia da Universidade Federal de Goiás (FO/UFG), realizou-se uma pesquisa documental da matriz curricular e ementas da nova estrutura curricular da FO/UFG e dos projetos de pesquisa e extensão cadastrados na instituição . Foram considerados a inserção e o contexto da relação profissional-paciente nos âmbitos individual e coletivo . Observou-se que de um total de 60 disciplinas oferecidas no curso de odontologia da FO/UFG, 19 (31,7%) delas contemplam a relação profissional-paciente, e 4 (57,1%) de um total de 7 projetos de extensão voltados à graduação contemplam tal temática . Os dados encontrados mostram a possibilidade de acadêmicos e docentes trabalhar a relação profissional-paciente, embora as disciplinas clínicas não expressem essa relação em suas ementas (AU).
ABSTRACT
According to the abilities and skills required by the Brazilian National Curriculum Guidelines for un- dergraduate dentistry programs, students should be able to effectively communicate with patients, health professionals and the public at large . Integrating experiences throughout academic life is essential for encouraging these interpersonal skills, including interactions between health personnel and patients. The aim of this documental study was to identify elements in the undergraduate curriculum matrix, and extension and research projects involving undergraduate students in the School of Dentistry of Goiás Federal University, which explicitly or implicitly incorporate aspects of professional-patient relationships in an individual and collective care context . It was observed that the issue of professional-patient relationships was included in 19 (31 .7%) out of a total of 60 disciplines of the curriculum and 4 (57 .1%) extension projects . Students have the opportunity to learn about theoretical aspects and practices related to interactions between dentists and patients throughout the curriculum . In contrast, although clinical disciplines have a close interaction with patients, the professional-patient relationship is not clearly documented in the curriculum (AU).
