Significados de paternidade em famílias monoparentais femininas / Meanings of paternity by female monoparental families

RESUMO

O presente estudo teve como objetivo conhecer os significados atribuídos à paternidade por mulheres chefes de família. Participaram deste estudo dez mulheres que compunham uma família monoparental e eram provenientes de grupos populares A entrevista, com roteiro semiestruturado, foi um dos instrumentos de coleta de dados assim como o grupo focal. O material coletado foi analisado por meio da análise de conteúdo, que sustentou o surgimento de categorias de análise. Os resultados indicaram, de modo geral, a coexistência de concepções tradicionais e modernas no que se refere aos significados atribuídos à paternidade. Ademais, evidenciou-se uma tendência a ampliação do modelo de paternidade, no qual o pai além de provedor da família é reconhecido por sua presença e afetividade, resgatando a sua importância no ambiente familiar.

ABSTRACT

The present study aimed to know the meanings attributed to paternity by women heads of households. This study was composed by ten women from lower class groups, who constituted a monoparental family. The semi-structured interview was one of the data collection instruments, together with the focus groups. The material collected was evaluated by the content analysis, which supported the appearance of categories of analysis. The results showed, in a general way, the coexistence of traditional and modern conceptions relative to the meanings attributed to paternity. Furthermore, we evidenced a tendency to expansion of paternity model, in which the father as well as family provider is recognized by your presence and affection, in order to rescue the importance of the father’s presence in the family environment.
