RESUMO
O objetivo do estudo foi avaliar a adesão dos profissionais de saúde nos cinco momentos da higienização das mãos nas Unidades de Terapia Intensiva de um hospital pediátrico por meio de informações obtidas no banco de dados da instituição. O método utilizado foi o exploratório, descritivo, de base documental e abordagem quantitativa, entre os profissionais que prestavam assistência aos pacientes. Foram incluídos os fisioterapeutas com maior adesão à Higienização das Mãos (HM), antes do contato com o paciente (100%). Os técnicos de enfermagem 138 de 312 (44,2%), médicos 55 de 172 (32%) e enfermeiros 42 de 135 (31,1%) foram os que menos realizaram a HM antes do contato com o paciente. Nota-se que a capacitação com a equipe multidisciplinar deve ser realizada continuamente com o intuito de conscientizar-se dos riscos e prevenir a infecção hospitalar que os pacientes estão expostos (AU).
ABSTRACT
The objective of the study was to evaluate the adherence by health professionals to the five moments of hand hygiene in the Intensive Care Units of a pediatric hospital through information obtained in the institution's database. The method used was exploratory, descriptive, documentary-based, with a quantitative approach, among the professionals who provided care to the patients. Physiotherapists with greater adherence to Hand Hygiene (HM), before contact with the patient (100%), were includedNursing technicians, 138 of 312 (44.2%); physicians, 55 of 172 (32%); and nurses, 42 of 135 (31.1%) were the ones who least performed HM before contact with the patient. Training with the multidisciplinary team should be carried out continuously in order to raise awareness of the risks, and prevent hospital infection to which patients are exposed (AU).
