Percepção das mães sobre as relações familiares e o comportamento de suas crianças: um estudo correlacional / Mother's perception on family relations and behavior of their children: a correlational study

RESUMO

O objetivo do trabalho foi verificar a relação entre o funcionamento familiar e problemas de comportamento em crianças a partir da percepção das mães. Participaram do estudo 21 mães de crianças entre 7 e 11 anos que estudavam em escolas públicas. Os instrumentos foram o Child Behavior Check List (CBCL), Inventário do Clima Familiar (ICF) e o Familiograma, todos foram preenchidos pelas mães. Os dados foram analisados através de estatística descritiva e inferencial. Os resultados mostraram correlações fortes e significativas entre as variáveis que avaliam o ambiente familiar e a presença dos problemas de comportamento das crianças, segundo o relato das mães. Os resultados mostram que existe relação entre essas variáveis, que quanto maior o nível de afetividade e coesão, menor é a presença de problemas de comportamento. A consistência desses resultados é uma evidência importante sobre o ambiente familiar como fonte de desenvolvimento emocional e psicossocial.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between family functioning and behavior problems in children from the mothers' perception. Participants were 21 mothers of children between 7 and 11 years who attended public schools. The instrument was Child Behavior Cheek List (CBCL), Family Climate Inventory (ICF) and the Familiograma, all instruments were completed by mothers. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results show significant and strong correlations between factors that assess the family environment and the presence of behavior problems presented by the children. The results show that there is a relationship between these variables, the higher the level of affection and cohesion the lower the presence of behavior problems. The consistency of these results is important evidence about the family environment as a source of emotional and psychosocial development.
