Reflexões sobre o processo neuropsicológico de pessoas com altas habilidades/superdotação / Reflections on the neuropsychological process of people with high skills/giftedness

RESUMO

Pessoas com Altas Habilidades/Superdotação (AH/SD) são identificadas com nível superior de inteligência. Contudo, novas teorias têm superado as capacidades cognitivas e abordado questões como motivação e criatividade. A Neuropsicologia, como interface entre o neurofuncionamento e questões psicológicas, é um campo de conhecimento que se propõe a estudar essas novas concepções de inteligência. O objetivo desta revisão crítica da literatura é abordar os mecanismos neuropsicológicos de pessoas identificadas com Altas Habilidades/Superdotação. O estudo constatou que os estudos da Neuropsicologia focam, ainda, nas habilidades cognitivas, apresentando uma defasagem em estudar as demais habilidades em AH/SD. São necessários estudos que investiguem a atividade neurofuncional da motivação, criatividade, habilidades artísticas de pessoas com AH/SD e, ainda, a conexão com as habilidades cognitivas

ABSTRACT

Above Average Capabilities/Gifted people (AH/SD) are identified with a higher level of intelligence. However, new theories have overcome the cognitive capabilities and now approach issues such as motivation and creativity. The Neuropsychology, as an interface between the neural-function and psychological issues, is a field of knowledge which aims at studying these new conceptions of intelligence. The purpose of this literature critical review is to approach the neuropsychological mechanisms of people identified with Above Average Capabilities. The study found that the Neuropsychology studies still focus on cognitive skills, demonstrating a lag in studying the other AH/SD. Studies are needed in order to investigate the neural-function activity of motivation, creativity and artistic abilities in individuals with AH/SD, in addition to the connection with cognitive abilities
