RESUMO
RESUMO Trata-se de estudo sobre o ensino fundamental de nove anos no estado de São Paulo, especialmente do ingresso de crianças de 5 e 6 anos de idade no 1º ano. Analisaram-se propostas de implantação de quatro governos municipais paulistas, a do governo estadual e a da Escola de Aplicação da Faculdade de Educação da Universidade de São Paulo (FEUSP). É pesquisa qualitativa, documental e bibliográfica. Foram realizadas visitas semanais às escolas e entrevistas com crianças, pais, professores, gestores escolares, conselhos de escola e sindicatos. Os resultados foram analisados à luz do direito à educação, da gestão democrática e da qualidade de ensino.
ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT This is a study about the nine-year elementary school in the state of São Paulo, especially the entry of children with 5 and 6 years old in the first-year schooling. It was analyzed the implementation proposal of four municipal government in São Paulo, of the state government and of the College of Education's Application School, at University of São Paulo. It is a qualitative, document and bibliographic research. Visits were made weekly to schools, as well as interviews with children, parents, teachers, school administrators, school boards and unions. The results were analyzed considering the right to education, democratic management and quality of education.
