Fundamento Los profesionales de la salud, y especialmente los vinculados a la gestión del cuidado, se ven sometidos a una serie de situaciones que generan estrés profesional y que afectan su estado psicológico. En este sentido, la inteligencia emocional y el bienestar psicológico pueden funcionar como factores protectores ante el estrés laboral.Objetivo:
identificar los niveles de inteligencia emocional y bienestar psicológico, respectivamente, en profesionales de enfermería de la región de Los Lagos, Chile.Métodos:
estudio descriptivo con diseño no experimental. Se trabajó con 97 enfermeros de centro de atención primaria del sur de Chile, específicamente región de Los Lagos. Se aplicó el Trait Meta-Mood Scale y la Escala de bienestar psicológico de Ryff, para evaluar inteligencia emocional y bienestar psicológico, respectivamente; ambas escalas con buenos niveles de confiabilidad y compuestas por una serie de sub escalas o dimensiones.Resultados:
respecto a inteligencia emocional, se observaron altos niveles de percepción emocional (35 %), comprensión emocional (36,1 %) y regulación emocional (42,7 %). Un 57,5 % de los profesionales presentó alto nivel de bienestar psicológico, aunque el 33,7 % manifestó un bajo nivel de relaciones positivas.Conclusión:
existe relación directa y significativa entre las dimensiones de las escalas de inteligencia emocional y bienestar psicológico.ABSTRACT

Descriptive study with non-experimental design. A number of 97 nurses from the Los Lagos region were included. A Trait Meta-Mood Scale and the Ryff scale of psychological wellbeing were applied to evaluate the emotional intelligence and psychological wellbeing respectively, both with good levels of reliability and composed by a series of sub-scales or dimensions.Results:
regarding emotional intelligence, high levels of of emotional perception were observed (35 %), emotional comprehension (36,1 %) and emotional regulation (42,7 %). A 57,5 % of the professionals had a high level of psychological wellbeing, although 33,7 % showed low level of positive relations.Conclusion:
there is a direct and significant relation between the scales of emotional intelligence and psychological wellbeing.
