Dimensiones Exploratorias del Estigma Social y Laboral. Un Estudio Delphi con Estudiantes de Pre Grado

RESUMEN

La psicología social y la psicología organizacional tienen como tema central en su agenda a la violencia, pero con especial interés, en el estigma como un reflejo de las diferencias entre grupos. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue explorar los símbolos y los significados inherentes al estigma social y laboral en una localidad de transito de migrantes centroamericanos hacia EU. Se llevó a cabo un estudio exploratorio y cualitativo con una selección de informantes clave. Los hallazgos advierten la emergencia de un estigma laboral a partir de un estigma social de menosprecio a las oportunidades de empleo del lugar de origen con respecto a las oportunidades laborales esperadas al migrar hacia EU. Se advierten líneas de investigación concernientes a la comparación entre grupos de ex migrantes.

ABSTRACT

Social psychology and organizational psychology focus on violence in their agenda, but with a particular interest in stigma as a reflection of differences between groups. The objective of the present study was to explore the symbols and meanings inherent to social and labor stigma in a transit location of Central American migrants to the United States. An exploratory and qualitative study was conducted with a selection of key informants. The findings point to the emergence of a labor stigma based on a social stigma of disregard for employment opportunities in the place of origin with respect to expected job opportunities as they migrate to the US. Lines of research concerning the comparison between groups of ex-migrants are noted.
