Behaviorismo e fenomenologia: direcionamentos para um diálogo entre Skinner e Merleau-Ponty / Behaviorism and phenomenology: directions for a dialogue between Skinner and Merleau-Ponty

RESUMO

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo iniciar um diálogo entre as ideias de B. F. Skinner e M. Merleau-Ponty a partir do comportamento reflexo. Do ponto de vista metodológico, optou-se pelo estudo da primeira fase do pensamento merleau-pontyano, especificamente com o livro La structure du comportament, e a segunda fase do pensamento skinneriano, especificamente com o livro Science and human behavior. Os demais textos de Skinner, Merleau-Ponty e comentadores foram usados como referência de apoio. Três momentos serão considerados. No primeiro, apresentar-se-á uma revisão do panorama geral do diálogo entre fenomenologia e behaviorismo. No segundo, tratar-se-á questões sobre o método e sua justificativa. No terceiro, discutir-se-á a superação da explicação comportamental pelo reflexo e como ela nos indica o movimento de convergência entre as filosofias de Skinner e de Merleau-Ponty.(AU)

ABSTRACT

This study aims to initiate a dialogue between B. F. Skinner?s and M. Merleau-Ponty?s ideas based on the proposition of reflex behavior. From a methodological point of view, we opted for studying the first stage of Merleau-Ponty?s thoughts, specifically the book La structure du comportement, and the second stage of Skinner?s thoughts, specifically the book Science and Human Behavior. Other texts written by Skinner, Merleau-Ponty and commentators were used as support references. Three moments were considered firstly, we will briefly present the general dialogue context between behaviorism and phenomenology. Secondly, we will deal with questions regarding methods and their justifications. Thirdly, we will discuss the overcoming of the reflex behavior paradigm and how it helps to point out the convergence between Skinner?s and Merleau-Ponty?s philosophies.(AU)
