Renovando a tradição: o caso da Cavalhada Mirim na comunidade de Morro Vermelho / Renewing the tradition: the case of Cavalhada Mirim in the community of Morro Vermelho

RESUMO

Na comunidade de Morro Vermelho (MG), encontramos uma grande devoção a Nossa Senhora de Nazareth, padroeira do distrito. A ela, dedica-se a festa da Cavalhada, iniciada há 310 anos pelos moradores do lugar. Na década de 80 do século XX, nasce também ali uma nova tradição: a Cavalhada Mirim, encenada por crianças. Entrevistamos três responsáveis pela Cavalhada Mirim de gerações diferentes, no intuito de compreender como eles vivenciam a responsabilidade em criar a festa, mantê-la e transmiti-la a outras pessoas que possam assegurar sua existência. Como resultado, observamos uma legitimação da presença das crianças nas festas tradicionais de Morro Vermelho e um relacionamento pessoal com a figura de Nossa Senhora. Notamos ainda que cada sujeito incorpora um momento dessa trajetória de vida em Morro Vermelho: da iniciação na devoção e nas tradições, até a resposta como responsabilidade, culminando na preocupação pela transmissão às gerações seguintes.(AU)

ABSTRACT

In the community of Morro Vermelho (MG) we found a great devotion to Our Lady of Nazareth, patron saint of the district. To her, the locals dedicate the feast of Cavalhada (children?s horse riding parade), held for the first time 310 years ago. In the 80s of the 20th century, there also comes a new tradition: the Cavalhada Mirim, staged by children. We interviewed three Cavalhada Mirim leaders of different generations in order to understand how they experience the responsibility of creating this party, keeping it and passing it on to others who can ensure their existence. As a result, we observed a legitimizing of the presence of children in the traditional festivals of Morro Vermelho and a personal relationship with the figure of Our Lady. We also note that each subject incorporates a moment of this path in Morro Vermelho: from the initiation into devotion and traditions, to the answer as responsibility, culminating in the concern of the transmission of the tradition to future generations.(AU)
