Afeto e subjetividade nos primeiros trabalhos de Merleau-Ponty / Affect and subjectivity on Merleau-Ponty's first works

RESUMO

O presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar o tema da "afetividade" presente no primeiro momento da filosofia de Maurice Merleau-Ponty (1908 ­ 1961), mais especificamente nas obras A estrutura do comportamento, de 1942 e Fenomenologia da percepção, de 1945. Procuramos apontar de que forma tal concepção se articula com a noção de subjetividade apresentada pelo autor nos referidos trabalhos. Merleau-Ponty enfatiza a impossibilidade de compreender-se o afeto segundo os pressupostos tanto do empirismo quanto do intelectualismo. Para o autor, a afetividade apresenta-se como um campo original da consciência corporificada, uma maneira que o sujeito tem de se abrir para o mundo através de determinado estado afetivo. Tomado na corporeidade, o afeto não se apresenta como fisiologia ou ideia. A afetividade corporificada surge como realização de um significado próprio, ligado à abertura do sujeito ao mundo, que sempre se dá a partir do próprio corpo.(AU)

ABSTRACT

This study aims to investigate the "affectivity" theme in the first part of Maurice Merleau-Ponty?s (1908 ­ 1961) philosophy, more specifically in the works The structure of behavior, from 1942 and Phenomenology of perception, from 1945. We seek to indicate how this concept articulates with the notion of subjectivity presented by the author in said works. Merleau-Ponty emphasizes the impossibility of comprehending the affect by the assumptions of both empirism and intellectualism. For the author, affectivity presents itself as an original field of the embodied consciousness, a manner in which the subject opens itself to the world through a certain affective state. Understood through the embodiment, the affect does not present itself as physiology or idea. Embodied affectivity presents itself as the realization of its own meaning, related to the openness of the subject to the world through the body itself.(AU)
