"DEIXA AMOR": A cultura do futebol de praia na perspectiva de um grupo de lazer / "DEIXA AMOR": The culture of beach soccer in the perspective of a leisure group

RESUMO

É objeto deste estudo o grupo de lazer Deixa Amor, estruturado há mais de uma década na cidade de São Pedro da Aldeia-RJ, o qual tem como álibi para seus encontros semanais, a prática do futebol de praia, realizada na Praia do Boqueirão aos domingos pela manhã. Trata-se de um grupo formado por 30 indivíduos do sexo masculino, com idade igual ou superior a 40 anos. Por meio de um estudo de caso, utilizando entrevista de grupo focal, observação participante, diário de campo e gravação de áudio e vídeo, objetiva-se com este artigo, compreender em profundidade os sentidos que os sujeitos envolvidos atribuem ao esporte de lazer que praticam e, os significados daquilo que chamam de lazer pela prática do esporte competitivo, sem que este denote, para o grupo, competição. Como resultado, encontrou-se um grupo bastante estável no que se refere à manifestação do esporte de praia na cultura local, sem muita influência da esportivização, ainda que se perceba em sua prática e narrativas, discursos acerca da competição. No entanto, apesar de sustentar o perfil do homo competitivus, a inventividade e a liberdade deste grupo são características que superam as limitações da idade e, forjam um estilo de homo ludens que não nega a sua natureza competitiva.

ABSTRACT

It is the object of this study the leisure group Deixa Amor, structured over a decade ago in the city of São Pedro da Aldeia-RJ, which has as an alibi for its weekly meetings, the practice of beach soccer, held at Praia do Boqueirão Sundays in the morning. It is a group of 30 male individuals, aged 40 years or over. Through a case study, using a focus group interview, participant observation, field diary and audio and video recording, this article aims to understand in depth the meanings that the subjects involved attribute to the leisure sport they practice and, the meanings of what they call leisure for the practice of competitive sport, without this denoting, for the group, competition. As a result, a fairly stable group was found with regard to the manifestation of beach sport in the local culture, without much influence of the sportivization, although it is perceived in its practice and narratives, discourses about the competition. However, in spite of sustaining the profile of homo competitivus, the inventiveness and freedom of this group are characteristics that overcome the limitations of age and, they forge a style of homo ludens that does not deny its competitive nature.
