Perfil de crianças e adolescentes vítimas de maus-tratos atendidos em ambulatório de psicologia da região sul do Brasil / Children's profile and adolescent victims of maltreatment met in psychology clinic in southern Brazil

RESUMO

Episódios de maus-tratos na infância e adolescência são considerados um problema de saúde pública e as consequências perpassam danos emocionais, cognitivos e sociais desses indivíduos. O presente estudo procurou investigar características sociodemográficas, familiares e sociais em crianças e adolescentes que passaram por alguma situação de maus-tratos. A amostra é comporta por 282 participantes entre seis e 17 anos de idade. Dentre os principais resultados, crianças e adolescentes que sofreram algum tipo de maus-tratos são, em sua maioria, do sexo feminino, possuem entre oito e 12 anos, são filhos de pais separados com ensino médio completo, pertencem à classe média, apresentam dificuldades de aprendizagem e a maioria foi resultante de uma gravidez não planejada. A partir desse estudo, pode-se concluir que maus-tratos causam prejuízos significativos para suas vítimas, por isso a importância de identificar características dessa população para que se possa pensar em prevenção, tratamento e fatores de risco.

ABSTRACT

Episodes of maltreatment in childhood and adolescence are considered a public health problem and the consequences pervade emotional damage, cognitive and social these individuals. This study aimed to investigate sociodemographic, family and social characteristics of children and adolescents who have gone through a situation of abuse. The sample 282 is comprises by participants between six and 17 years of age. Among the main results, children and adolescents who have suffered some kind of abuse are mostly female, have between eight and 12 years, are children of divorced parents with high school education, belong to the middle class, have difficulty learning and most were the result of an unplanned pregnancy. From this study, it can be concluded that maltreatment causes significant harm to their victims, so the importance of identifying characteristics of this population so that one can think of prevention, treatment and risk factors.
