La salud mental en el sistema de salud / Mental health in the healthcare system

RESUMEN

Hace unas décadas y ante la conceptualización de la dualidad mente-cuerpo y las estructuras administrativas y políticas nacionales la salud mental, esta era un componente marginal y aislado del resto de los elementos trabajados en salud. Se creaban políticas y directrices exclusivas y al margen del resto. La misma definición de salud hablaba de salud física y mental. Nada más erróneo que ello, la separación de estos dos elementos, categoriza, segmenta, fragmenta y no permitió quizás dentro de otras variables que se alcanzara un avance importante en el las disciplinas de salud que trabajamos en esta dimensión. No permitió tampoco la integralidad que debemos tener como principio de nuestro quehacer en búsqueda de nuestro objetivo fundamental: calidad de vida, bienestar de vida y desarrollo humano.

ABSTRACT

A few decades ago and given the conceptualization of the mind-body duality and the national administrative and political structures of mental health, this was a marginal component isolated from the rest of the elements worked on in health. Exclusive policies and guidelines were created apart from the rest. The very definition of health spoke of physical and mental health. Nothing more erroneous than this, the separation of these two elements, categorizes, segments, fragments and perhaps will not include within other variables that an important advance will be reached in the health disciplines that we work in this dimension. Nor do we achieve the integrality that we must have as the principle of our work in search of our fundamental objective: quality of life, well-being of life and human development.
