ABSTRACT
The aim was to identify the main otoneurologic complaints of pregnant women and connect them with the hormonal changes of that period. This is a cross-sectional study of descriptive and analytical type, carried out with 20 pregnant women seen in the Primary Health Care and and in the Amador Aguiar Maternity Hospital, located in the city of Osasco, São Paulo, through an interview with semi-structured questionnaire. For statistical analysis were used the Test for Equality of Two Ratios and the Mann-Whitney Test. It was observed that among the symptomatic aids researched, hypersensitivity to noise obtained a higher occurrence (30%) followed by ringing in the ears (20%). The dizziness was in evidence in 55% of the sample surveyed, in addition to characterize itself as subjective rotational, with variation from minutes to weeks. There has been significant differences in the rates of estrogen, progesterone and hCG in pregnant women with or without auditory and vestibular ymptoms/complaints. We tried to find a relationship between hormonal changes and associate them to the complaints of vestibular dysfunction. Same reporting complaints otoneurológicas, the patients surveyed kept their exams with normal hormonal rates.(AU)
